ASEAN Gaming summit has just wrapped up in Manila. The summit was dedicated to iGaming industry within the specific Southeast Asia market and went on for three days.
The first day consisted of discussions around the blockchain’s role in the iGaming industry. Axesnetwork CEO Earl Halle has said that the understanding of blockchain of some casinos are still insufficient and expressed the importance of proper regulation and legislature around blockchain.
Additionally, smart table usage in land-based casinos was discussed. One of the main advantages of it is the data collection on players choices, which is much more complicated with ordinary tables. Such data can boost casino revenue ten-fold, according to some experts.
The second day concentrated on the developments and prospects of the gambling industry in the Southeast Asian market in general and in The Philippines specifically.
One of the representatives of The Philippines Games and Amusements Committee has said that the income from the industry is expected to double this year. In the meantime, other experts addressed the developments in Cambodia, as a market with big potential and Macau, as one of the leaders in the field.
Day 3 switched from presentations and speakers to informal round-tables. Issues discussed included eSports betting, innovation in game design and sports betting in Asia.
