eSports Revenue is Projected to Multiply Five Times by 2024

The test of the popularity of eSports was laid bare just this month. The price of fame for eSports led to the launching of Fortnite’s World Cup event in July of this year. With the audience at a steady increase, the pot of prize money for the event was $30 million. According to some estimates, eSports betting will overcome football in numbers in just a few years.

Players in eSports activities have always remained “fantasy participants,” but the platform could soon create wealthy gamers. The just-concluded Fortnite’s World Cup witnessed a remarkable two million concurrent viewers. Though the figure is lower than the overall eSports activities, it is clear that companies involved have the prospect of becoming rich.

It’s not only in China and South Korea where eSports are nourishing but also in the Asia Pacific region. The demographics further reveals that eSports is to continue netting new players around the world.

Financial Prospects for eSports Betting

The Rethink Technology Research established that eSports could realize a revenue worth $5.05 billion by 2024. The projected figures could be five times better considering that 2018 contributed $900 million in revenue.

However, various industries will have to be contented to share the massive financial figure. Advertising, tipping, and media broadcasting rights are areas set to enjoy once things work in eSport. Other sectors that will claim the colossal sum include sponsorship, ticketing, and merchandising.

Betting on eSports has already become huge. Many online sports betting sites are focusing more on such events as Dota 2 International and CS:GO tournaments.

The anticipated growth in revenue won’t be a miracle, but each eSports fan will contribute to the realization of big money. By 2018, eSports had recruited 158 million game enthusiast, and the number is to reach 377 million fans after five years.

Pay-TV operators who are still reluctant to be part of eSports events will finally join considering the tremendous casual viewers that the platform has. The mainstream media will be battling it out for the opportunity to obtain media rights to sell ads.

The five-year revenue growth will be rampant on media rights than other aspects. In fact, the graph of media growth will be steep and record almost twelve times of improvement by 2024. There’s no doubt that when the media enter into the fray, the firms will secure media rights to broadcast tournaments culminating into a rapid revenue generation.
