Max Bet (Bet Ceiling)

WELCOME BONUS

A maximum bet (or bet ceiling) is the largest bet that can possibly be placed by a player at the table or machine. The main function of max bets is to help players control the amounts they gamble. For example, if you were to play at a blackjack table with a bet ceiling of $20, you won’t ever lose more than $20 per hand.

Max bets are typically set to 10 to 30 times the size of minimum bets so they can serve as a precaution against players who are abusing the Martingale betting system to get guaranteed gains.

When choosing a blackjack or poker table, it’s important to find out whose minimum and maximum bets are suited to your betting needs and habits. Low rollers will usually avoid tables with high minimum bets to make sure their bankroll (and, thus, their session) lasts as long as possible. High rollers will typically steer clear of tables with low maximum bets.

In poker, no limit (NL) tables are designed to let high rollers bet as much as they want.
