During the ICE London 2019 conference back in February, NetEnt CEO Therese Hillman spoke about their work with brands. She pointed out that they are looking to work with brands that “give them freedom”.
The reason for that is the ability to be flexible with the material they are given and to provide, as Hillman puts it, “their own twist”. Both the game developer and the famous intellectual properties have to fit in order to work together.
Despite the focus on both the brands they work with and their own brand, which is also heavily featured on their products, the main focus is always on the games and the experience. Hillman pointed out that “it’s all about the games”.
The range of NetEnt’s branded slots varies significantly, from the gritty fantasy world of Conan to the somewhat controversial crime-fueled theme of their latest branded addition, Narcos.
