Game of Thrones has ended, but you can now bet on a possible remake, petitioned by dissatisfied fans.
The show has wrapped up last week, with most viewers feeling disappointed by its conclusion. This is not surprising, as even the bookmakers were left shocked. Most predictions indicated outcomes that never happened in the show. This is despite the fact that GoT odds were made up by careful and attentive fans.
Nevertheless, some fans started a petition to rewrite and remake the entire season 8. As of the end of May, more than 1,5 million disgruntled viewers have signed it. Now, the bookmakers are throwing their hats into the ring.
Boyle Sports bookmaker has introduced 50/1 odds for the possibility of the new episodes. This will certainly be one of the weirdest bets in the history of weird bets. However, these are not the most unlikely chances, compared to the previous Game of Thrones odds.
Despite somewhat hopeful odds and the popular petition, the chances are slim. HBO’s boss of broadcasting Casey Bloys had this to say on a possible sequel:
‘Nope, nope, nope.’
Moreover, the author George Martin has notoriously declined numerous book adaptation proposals. His condition was that only the show’s creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, could adapt the source material. Seeing how their show ended, he is not likely to give the rights to anyone from now on.
