Odds Shorten for Brexit Second Referendum

Following the extension granted by the EU, the UK has yet to decide on an agreement for leaving the EU. No deal Brexit odds were the shortest, but it seems that bookmakers look forward to a second referendum.

Following the failure of Parliament to pass any of 8 bills to establish a Brexit deal, Theresa May has reached out to Jeremy Corbyn, Labour party leader.

This has influenced the bookmaker odds, as the Labour party is the only political force to even consider a second referendum.

Second Referendum on Brexit Odds

The odds are gathered from various UK bookmakers:

  • Second Referendum – 15/8
  • Remain after the Second Referendum – 2/1
  • No Deal – 3/1

The odds indicate that there is a high probability of a second referendum and a consecutive decision for the UK to remain in the EU.

This is corroborated by the recent People’s Vote movement and prominent EU leaders, such as France’s Emmanuel Macron, believing that a Second Referendum is a valid option.

Despite that, the chance of a No-Deal is still looming. In this case, Brexit can damage the gambling industry, which will only add salt to the wound after a betting lockdown was recently implemented in the UK.
