It seems that the gradual adoption of online gambling in the US is starting to bear fruit. New Jersey online gambling operators have generated $39.1m in revenue in March, which is 53% more than in March 2019 and $5.5m more than in January, the previous record-breaking month.
The figures were shared by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. The most lucrative piece of the pie came from online casinos with $37.2m, while online poker came second with a subtle rise of $1.9m.
Affiliates of the famous Golden Nugget casino are the leaders in driving revenue, with $14.2m. This sum is exceptionally impressive, considering that the same amount was generated by the entire industry in New Jersey just two and a half years prior.
Second place goes to Resorts Digital Gaming, which is likely due to the DraftKings buying the former’s sports betting platform.
Other prominent online casinos and betting platforms that performed better than ever include Borgata, Caesars Interactive Entertainment and Tropicana.
