In the context of certain varieties of poker – such as Texas Hold’em and Omaha – community cards are the shared, face-up cards that are placed by the dealer at the center of the poker table.
Community cards are used by the players in combination with their hole cards to make the best possible combination (see rank).
They are revealed to the players in three distinct stages: the flop, the turn, and the river. Each card reveal is followed by an associated betting round.
