At the moment, the Russian government stopped working on the development of the Crimea casino. Russian President Vladimir Putin implied that the casino is not a priority at the moment with more pressing issues to be dealt with.
The gambling industry is one of the most lucrative industries in the world but it seems that the Russian government doesn’t care about that revenue since according to reports, they are not quite interested in starting this industry flowing. The plans surrounding the development of the Crimea casino have been active for a long time but have been delayed due to other priorities.
The Crimea Casino Plan
According to the original plan, a local investment company pushed the project and the casino is located on the southern coast. The total projected investment was higher than €43 million. The Director, Denis Kozorez implied that the new gambling zone in Crimea would provide more than 250 jobs and tax deductions of €21 million. Casino’s construction was envisioned to start in 2020 and finish by 2023.
Primorye Gambling Zone
The Primorye zone has emerged as one of the leading gambling zones in Europe and the local government is constantly demanding more casinos to be constructed. This zone is projected to have a minimum of 11 casinos by 2023. The Vice Governor of Primorye, Konstantin Shestakov, has recently stated that the cost of investment in the zone will be $1.2 billion and feature a minimum of 11 casinos by 2023. By the end of 2020, a minimum of three casinos will work.
