Down to the Felt

Down to the felt is a term used for a casino player who has no money left in their bankroll. This usually happens due to a cold streak experienced by the player, either as a result of bad luck or poor decisions.

Players who use betting techniques that scale quickly, such as the Martingale system, are at risk of playing themselves down to the felt. The same is true for overly aggressive gamblers who take a lot of unnecessary risks.

Usage Example:

“All my chips have gone so now I am down to the felt!”

Down to the Felt:

  • Losing your entire bankroll.
