When someone mentions the word “gambling,” the place that comes in the mind of many people in Las Vegas. The undoubted world’s gambling headquarters is in the state of Nevada, which is certainly a capital of casinos, poker and slot machines. However, September 20th was scheduled to mark a memorable day in Nevada for a different reason, as the infamous Area 51 was going to be raided. This is according to a Facebook event that was organized to entice a mammoth crowd to seek the truth on ET and UFOs.
It was going to be another event to prove how this region of the US can become creative when it comes to gambling. Bookmakers, including Bovada, had already created bets that were heavily tipping the event not to happen. In the end, oddsmakers were exonerated with the Area 51 plan aborting. However, only the “Storm Assault” was canceled, as the creative planners have since substituted it with a music festival.
Over three million people had already signed up to fete the occasion. The organizers have disclosed that the anticipated event will not take place, but they have arranged for other special activities. The Little A ”Le” Inn Motel (pun intended) located in Rachel, Nevada will now host the gathering in a music festival. Changes in the plan came after the Air Force had published a notice warning the conveners the dangers and illegality of conducting the event within the military territory.
The Odds on Storm Area 51
With the odds of -350 for the event to backfire, Bovada proved that they were right in their anticipation. The bookmakers added this one to the collection of weird bets for fun as they had full knowledge that the occasion could not proceed in the overprotected military base. Bovada has since removed the line and plans to settle the bets next month accordingly.
Another funny odd that Bovada had placed was if President Donald Trump was going to tweet about the issue. The odd for that option was -510 showing that Trump would not waste his time on the matter. With his twitter handle ever busy with statements, Trump uncharacteristically ignored the matter.
