US Players Avoid Detection to Play in Foreign Online Casinos, According to Report

Iovation, a fraud detection network, has issued a report on how US players evade detection to use gambling sites and apps.

The group found out that 4.13% of gambling-related US transactions used certain evasion methods to hide their origin. Transactions mostly targeted European gambling operators. In comparison, only 1.89% of gambling transactions outside the US use any evasion techniques.

Majority of online casinos are not allowed to offer services to US citizens. As a result, they are restricted from processing payments from them. However, the demand for the gambling market there is ever-increasing. Therefore, local players often resort to such measures to play online casino games.

Iovation co-founder Jon Karl said: “There is indeed a pent-up demand in the US, where gamblers will go to rather extreme measures to try to get around restrictions to become a customer of a foreign gambling site.” Such demand again proves that online gambling legalization in the US is necessary.

The users were reported to use Tor Browser and proxy servers to access foreign sites.
